Tim joined Evans Case, LLP as an associate in May 2014 and became a partner in January 2020. Tim received a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of South Carolina in 2007 and his Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law in 2010.  After finishing law school, Tim moved to Denver and received his Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Denver in 2011.  Tim focuses his practice on estate planning, trust and estate litigation, trust and estate administration, guardianships and conservatorships, and appeals.

Tim advises his estate planning clients on how to properly transfer and manage their wealth, plan effectively for incapacity and death, and avoid probate.  He also represents individual and corporate fiduciaries regarding all aspects of estate and trust administration.

As a litigator, Tim has extensive trial experience in disputes involving will contests, fiduciary responsibility and liability, spousal rights at death, and contested guardianships and conservatorships.  He is a tireless advocate for his clients and looks for creative ways to reach resolutions to complex estate and probate issues.

Tim is a member of the Rocky Mountain Estate Planning Council and the Estate Planning Council of Southeast Denver.  Tim is actively involved in the Trust and Estates Section of the Colorado Bar Association and currently serves on its Executive Council.  Tim has presented continuing education courses on estate planning, trust and estate litigation, guardianships, and conservatorships, and representing clients with diminished capacity. Tim has also given testimony before the Colorado House of Representatives and the Colorado Supreme Court Rules of Professional Conduct Standing Committee regarding the implementation of legislation affecting trusts and estates.

Outside of the office, Tim volunteers his time to several non-profit organizations and serves on the Board of Easters Seals Colorado.  An avid outdoorsman, Tim enjoys all of the recreation opportunities Colorado has to offer.

“Tim Bounds his team were exceptionally professional, helpful and friendly with me and my husband.  He openly discussed our will/trust options and we are very confident with our decision.  Thank you, Tim Bounds team at Evans Case!” ~ Katherine H
