Committee Chair Member, Arapahoe County Bar AssociationSusan Pray received a B.S. degree in civil engineering from Gonzaga University magna cum laude (go Zags!) and a juris doctor degree from Harvard University cum laude.
Ms. Pray has almost 40 years of litigation experience. During that time, she has focused primarily on complex commercial litigation, including insurance bad faith, probate mattes, bank fraud, lender liability, officers and directors’ liability, breach of contract, environmental law, water quality issues affecting surface water rights, regulatory compliance in the banking field, OSHA compliance, insurance coverage, natural resources disputes, and product liability. She also has experience in professional liability litigation, personal injury and wrongful death matters, review of transaction documentation for litigation avoidance, and audits of insurance coverage for adequacy and effectiveness.
Ms. Pray has extensive litigation and arbitration experience, including international arbitration under the International Chamber of Commerce rules. She is admitted to practice law in Colorado, the Federal District Court for the District of Colorado, and the United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell’s Peer Review Rating System (the highest attorney rating available).
Ms. Pray has been a partner at prestigious Denver law firms, including Holme Roberts & Owen and Godfrey & Lapuyade and was a managing attorney at the Kobayashi Law Firm.
Ms. Pray is active in the Bar and in the community as a fellow emeritus of the Colorado Bar Foundation and the Arapahoe County Bar Foundations, a member of the American Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Association, the Arapahoe County Bar Association (past Board member), and the Denver Bar Association. She has been coaching Colorado High School Mock Trial at Regis Jesuit High School, where she is head coach, for nineteen years and is about to start her twentieth.
