Biographical Information

Keith Lapuyade has more than 35 years of litigation experience. His knowledge of insurance law and bad faith, coupled with his extensive understanding of medical issues, is of particular value in medical malpractice litigation and often brings this special skill-set to bear in the personal representation of physicians, attorneys, and other professionals for purposes of establishing their rights with respect to their insurance coverage, risk management, and financial well-being.

He focuses his practice in the areas of Estate and Trust Litigation, Fiduciary Liability, Probate Litigation, Professional Liability, Risk Assessment Management, Personal Representation of Professionals Involved in Litigation, General Litigation, Complex Commercial Litigation, Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith, Arbitration and Mediation.

​He is rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell’s Peer Review Rating System (the highest attorney rating available) for over 25 years. He is recognized by Denver’s 5280 Magazine as a Colorado Top Lawyer, and listed as a Colorado Super Lawyer. He has also been recognized for many years by the prestigious Best Lawyers in America and was selected by Best Lawyers as Lawyer of the Year in Trust and Estate Litigation in 2022. Keith has extensive litigation experience in State and Federal courts, as well as with arbitration and mediation.

​Keith is a member of the Colorado Bar Foundation Board of Trustees, and is serving his third term as President of the Colorado Bar Foundation Bar Fellows he also serves as an Advisory Member of the Board for the Arapahoe County Bar Foundation.

​Keith is a frequent lecturer in for-credit continuing legal education and private seminars on issues relating to litigation, estate litigation, insurance coverage, risk assessment, and the role of personal counsel in litigation. He provides consultation in risk management, strategic business planning, and asset protection.

​He is admitted to practice in Colorado, Oklahoma, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and the United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
